Kids Story Online (“Kids Story Online”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides personalized children’s stories through our website at kidsstoryonline.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the website, why it is used, the services involved, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Process

The story creator is designed to work without requiring an account. Depending on how you use the website, the following information may be processed:

• Name entered into the story creator: The name you enter is used to personalize the selected story by replacing the {name} placeholder in the story.
• Theme selection: The theme you select is used to choose a matching story from our story collection.
• Technical information: Like most websites, our hosting provider, web server, or third-party services may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and request information as part of normal website operation, security, or service delivery.
• Information you voluntarily send us: If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we receive the information included in that communication.

We do not require users to create an account to generate a story, and the story generator does not ask for a child’s email address, home address, telephone number, photograph, or other account information.

2. How the Story Generator Uses Information

When you use the story generator, the selected theme is matched with stories in our curated story collection. The name entered into the generator is used to personalize the selected story.

The website sends the information needed for this request to the service that connects the website with our story collection. The service is operated using Google Apps Script and a Google Sheet that contains the story themes and story text. The sheet is used as the story source; the name entered by a visitor is not intentionally written into the story sheet as part of the normal story-generation process.

3. Data Retention

We aim to collect and retain only the information reasonably necessary to operate the website. The story generator itself is not designed as a user account or profile system, and the name entered for story personalization is not intentionally saved to our story database.

However, technical service providers may retain server, security, or request logs for periods determined by their own systems and policies. We do not make a blanket claim that every technical request or log is immediately deleted. Actual retention can vary by the service involved.

4. Google Services and Third-Party Providers

We use third-party services to help operate and improve the website. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Google Apps Script and Google Sheets

Our story collection is maintained in Google Sheets and the story generator uses Google Apps Script to connect the website with that collection. Information sent to the story-generation service may be processed by Google as part of providing the service.

Google AdSense

If Google AdSense advertising is enabled on Kids Story Online, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies in connection with advertising and measurement. Third parties may place and read cookies on a user’s browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, as a result of ad serving.

Kids Story Online will not use a child’s name or story-personalization information to create an advertising profile.
